It’s here! It’s finally here! New Moon is out and ready to be watched by it’s bagillion adoring fans. By the time you read this post, I will have been one of the lucky ones who already made the pilgrimage to the theatre, to see not only New Moon, but Twilight again as well!!! A quick reminder, I am participating in TWO blog hops today, so PLEASE make sure you check out both of my posts! The Artful INKables hop is after this post!!! You should be coming to me from Joy Kennedy’s blog. If not, then hop over to Twilight Tuesday to start at the beginning! On to my creation… You guys know I love making cards… and you know I love scrapbooking… but I just wasn’t feelin’ it for this hop. I wanted to go back to my roots. My first love. My jewelry. So I pulled out like 7 of my 16 bead boxes and got to work. I pulled inspiration from a bunch of places, but let’s take a peek at what I made before I go into the explanations, shall we? Please click on any of the photos to see them BIGGER!!! Then, you can see all of my precious baubles! Ok. The inspirations. First, the color. I’m sure you have all noticed how brown all of the movie posters are (which is weird, ‘cause they’re in Forks, where everything is green!). I decided to stick to those tones for the bracelet. Second, the beach. A lot of time is spent over at La Push, and I could imagine Bella spending the day beachcombing with Jacob, searching for tiny treasures. Some of the items I used could have easily washed up on to the sand. I’ve got some freshwater pearl sticks, a bunch of wood disks and sticks, and some pieces that are reminiscent of sea glass. Third, have you been to Hot Topic lately? They have some ridiculously cool jewelry for New Moon, so that was an inspiration as well. Forth, I was thinking about Native American jewelry. They are often filled with tiny treasures given to us from Mother Nature. Kind of random stuff, all beautiful in their own right. I tried to recreate that here. I’ve actually never made a bracelet like this before… I had a blast making it… so I’m thinking about making some for my Etsy shop. What do you think??? Should I??? I am totally inspired now… I need to make more of these bracelets! But first… maybe I’ll watch Twilight on DVD! ;} Now it’s time for you to hop on over to my sweet friend Jacquie! Make sure you show her some love!!! Enjoy the hop!!!
