Hello! This is my second post for the day. My first shared my unboxing video for A Colorful Life Designs, so if you missed it, please check it out. In this post, I’m sharing a card that uses the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month from Spellbinders, as well as a sentiment from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month, plus an older die set that I just love.

I started with a piece of light green cardstock and used it with the 3D Embossing Folder, which is called Shady Leaves. Next I flicked on some Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Spray, spritzed it with water to help the color oxidize, then I brayered on Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink onto the raised leaves. I cut the edges with the Deckle Edge Trimmer from Tonic & Tim Holtz, and added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to them.

The embossing folder reminded me of the Field Notes Collection from Spellbinders, so I pulled out the Field Notes Wildflowers Die Set and decided to use the hydrangea. I had pre-painted some paper with the Granualting Watercolors from Kuretake, so I chose a section and die cut the flowers twice. I cut the stem from a dark green cardstock, and the faux piece of tape from ivory, which I inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink. My sentiment is from the Clear Stamp & Die Set of the Month, and I thought it was just perfect with this card. I used ivory cardstock, Shady Lane VersaFine Clair Ink, and more Antique Linen Distress Ink on top. It needed some shine, so I added #901 from Kuretake’s Starry Color Watercolor Set. I roughly inked the edges of my white card base with Milled Lavender Distress Ink.

I love how this card turned out, and it’s definitely helping to chase the Winter Blues away. Plus, I’m really happy I got to use an older die set that I love. Isn’t the embossing folder beautiful? I can’t wait to use it again! Please be sure to visit Spellbinders to see all of the February Club Kits. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
